The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has said it would prosecute the Attorney General in future if the NPP-led government doesn’t.
Addressing the media on Tuesday in Accra at the party headquarters, the party played alleged voice recordings and WhatsApp messages from Dame to Richard Jakpa. The Minister of Justice was heard coaching the 3rd accused to answer questions in court.
The chairman of NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia said the Attorney General is not interested in justice but the persecution of his opponents. He called for “the immediate prosecution of Godfred Dame for multiple violations of the laws of Ghana.”
“We wish to make it clear that should President Akufo-Addo fail to prosecute him, a future NDC government will prosecute Godfred Dame for this heinous crime of fabricating evidence,” Asiedu Nketia warned.
“Friends from the media, it is clear from the incontrovertible evidence we have adduced today, that the government has no evidence of wrongdoing against the Minority Leader but is only involved in fabrications to persecute him as retribution for his strong opposition to the economic mismanagement and general misrule of the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government” the NDC chairman stated.
