In a Facebook post, Amos quoted The Herald newspaper investigation reports saying; “While, ASEPA’s Mensah Thompson, who described the money from GNPC and Aker Energy as “something small” appears to have spent the GHc10,000, as he virtually kept jumping around the question when The Herald called about the meeting and the fact that money exchanged hands…”

According to Amos, “But for the Herald’s investigation, this ASEPA guy would not have admitted he accepted bribe of GHC10,000 from officials of GNPC and Aker Energy in the ongoing negotiation for the dubious oil deal.” adding that “The beauty of our law is that, both the giver and receiver of bribe are all guilty.”

Following the public outcry over the US$1.6billion Ghana National Petroleum Corporation and Arker Energy negotiations, The Herald Newspaper has released an investigative report alleging that some leaders of Civil Society Organizations and members of parliament have been compromised in the deal.

The Newspaper went feature to mention that Mr. Mensah Thompson of ASEPA received GHc10,000; Mr. Duncan of COPEC received Ghc30,000 which he said the money was available to be returned.

“Aside many Civil Societies, some Members of Parliament as well as Ghanaian journalists have been mentioned as compromised hence “playing soft ball” on the transaction described as worse the botched Agyapa Royalties transaction and the PDS consortium deal.

However, Mensah Thompson in an interview with The Herald disclosed that, he was given GHC10,000 by Joseph Dadzie and Kadija Amoah after discussions with him at the car park of a friend’s office whose name he won’t reveal, Duncan Amoah also told The Herald, he was given GHC30,000 by the two who had come to his office in the company of Evans Mensa, a journalist with Joy FM.

Evans has told The Herald that he does some consultancy for Aker Energy, that his employers; the management of Multimedia, have been informed about this and they allowed him to do this which, includes working on Aker Energy’s media engagements.” – The Herald Newspaper reported.

In media encounter with Mr. Thompson, he has however denied the Ghc10,000  received from the GNPC and Arker Energy officials was bribe, insisting it was for lobbying.

But, Mr. Amos Amorse disagrees emphasizing that “If you desire to be in the CSO space, you must at all times exhibit high level of public morals.”

He stated that “The CID must deal with both officials of GNPC, Aker Energy and CSOs involved in this bribery scandal”.

“I’ll personally lead that process if the CID needs official complaint.” – Amos hinted.
