Ghana’s National Under-12 Tennis Team for ITF tournament

Ghana’s National Under 12 Tennis Team, will today begin their ITF/CAT West &Central African Junior Teams Competition.

The four-member contingent includes three players- Isaac Akuaku, Donatus Nyaaba and Yamba Suleman, with one of Ghana’s ITF level 2 Coaches, Yahaya Macaulay as Head Coach to the tournament in Cotonou, Benin.

This 5th edition of the competition will be used as the qualifying event for the upcoming U-12 African Junior Teams Competition(AJTC-U12),2021.

Two teams in the Boys and one team in the Girls team will qualify to compete in the final event at the (AJTC U-12) in December.

Ghana has been in the topmost position in the U-12 level team for the past five years in the West and Central African competitions.

Coach Yahaya explained to Octopus Media on strategies that are often used to win their matches over the years and appealed to interested philanthropists in the tennis fraternity for assistance for all the teams, especially the Junior teams to enable Ghana to uplift their level internationally.

The competition which begins today and ends on the 16th October 2021, is the Junior version of Davis Cup.
