Ghana football is dead – Volta Boxing Federation Chairman

Chairman of the Volta Regional Boxing Federation, Foster Enam Dagadu

The Chairman of the Volta Regional Boxing Federation, Foster Enam Dagadu has said, Ghana football may not rise again, until the country notices and appreciate what God has blessed the nation with when it comes to sports.

In rather a prophetic revelation, the Regional Boxing Federation Boss stated that God has ordained Ghana as a boxing nation, with a number of men with so much talent, but the nation has failed in exploiting those talents.

He said, “I believe God himself made us a boxing nation with numerous talents around us. Unfortunately, we seem to be paying much attention to football than where our strength lies. I’m not too sure we are making the right investment”.

He believes the Number 12 [#12] exposé by investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, is God sent, to teach us big lessons.

“How can you be spending on something that doesn’t bring you results? When was the last time the Black Stars won something good for us? he queried.

“We have won a lot in Boxing. We are producing world titles at every level but I don’t think we are investing enough into the sports. For me, the Anas expose’ is a blessing, and until we pay attention to what God gave us (boxing), Ghana football won’t rise to its previous level again”, he concluded.

Meanwhile, the boxing Chairman is urging government and corporate bodies to turn their attention to developing boxing talents in the country, whiles they wait for a miraculous revival of football in the country again.
