GFA faces FIFA Disciplinary Committee after SAFA petition poor officiating of game.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is set to submit the appropriate documents to FIFA latest by 20th November 2021 in connection with the match protest by the South Africa Football Association (SAFA).

The South Africa Football Association (SAFA) President, Danny Jordan on November 17 2021, issue a presser allerging a poor performance by the Senegalese referee, Maguette Ndiaye which led to their exit from the preliminary competition for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, Africa zone. Hence the need for  a replay of the match.

“what we have done today is that we’ve made detailed analysis of the match. We have found that 89 percent of wrong decisions were made against Bafana Bafana. It can’t be right”. He added.

This comes after the Black Stars of Ghana defeated the Bafana Bafana of South Africa on Sunday November 14, 2021 by a lone goal, to advance to the nock out stages of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers for the Mundial in Qatar 2022.

Ghanaian skipper, Andre Morgan Dede Ayew made a goal at the spot after Senegalese referee Maguette Ndiaye awarded a penalty kick for a foul against Daniel Amartey who was brought down by a South African player in the Bafana Bafana box in the 32nd minute of the game.

The South African Football Association has since petition the world football governing body, FIFA to investigate the referee and possibly order a replay of the game.

In response, FIFA Disciplinary Committee issued a letter on 17th November, 2021 assuring the football fraternity of bringing to light the truth of the issue in accordance with art. 14(9) of the Regulations FIFA World Cup 2022, Preliminary Competition as well as arts. 46 and 54 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code (FDC) on November 23, 2021.

The letter further instructs the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to submit it’s documents relating to the allegations to FIFA in due course.

Meanwhile, one Ghanaian has alergedly been stab to death in South Africa when defending the credibility of the penalty awarded to the Black Stars.
