North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has responded to a tweet by Gabby Otchere-Darko where the latter urged Ghanaians to focus on the value the country got from Nana Addo’s trip to Germany instead of the cost of the chartered flight .
Okudzeto Ablakwa viewed Gabby Otchere Darko’s message as “adding insult to injury”.
Mr Ablakwa also quizzed, if Chancellor Merkel would have denied Ghana the 1.5 million Astrazeneca Vaccines had Akufo-Addo traveled with the presidential jet.
“Are we being told that if President Akufo-Addo had arrived in Berlin with Ghana’s Presidential Jet, Chancellor Merkel wouldn’t have gifted us the 1.5 million vaccines?”.
Okudzeto Ablakwa further queried if the GHC3.4 million which was spent on renting the Boeing 737-900ER BBJ3 couldn’t have been used to purchase more vaccines.
“Couldn’t we have used the savings of some GHS3.4 million from a more responsible and frugal travel option to buy additional vaccines in dignity as we strive towards herd immunity”, he quizzed.
