John Ntim Fordjour & George Ayisi Boateng

Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin South, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, has said Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa, George Ayisi Boateng must render an apology to Ghanaians.

Hon. George Ayisi Boateng is alleged to have said that, he prioritizes members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its student wing, the [ads1]Tertiary Students’ Confederacy Network (TESCON) in his dealings in South Africa.

This unfair statement from the high commissioner has attracted rebuttal from Ghanaians especially the opposition NDC who are calling for his immediate resignation.

But commenting on the issue on Accra-based GHONe TV with Kafui Dey, the MP for Assin South said his colleague George Ayisi Boateng should render an apology to Ghanaians.

He also condemned the statement saying, it is politically wrong for the high commissioner to make such bigotry statement.

Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, however, said this statement cannot make the high commissioner resign.

“Politically, it was wrong for him to make such statement. He must accept and render apology to Ghanaians. This statement however, should not lead him to resign.” He said.
