Galamsey: Stop this shameless face-saving agenda – Kotoko blasts Ghana Armed Forces

Elikem Kotoko, Member of the NDC National Communication Team

A member of the National Communication Team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Elikem Kotoko has taken on the leadership of Ghana Armed Forces asking them if they can the shameless face-saving last-minute approach.

He was reacting to a press statement from the Public Relation Unit of the Ghana Armed Forces on the JoyNews reports on how some Military Officers are given protection to an illegal mining site especially at the time that President Akufo-Addo said he was fighting national cancer.

The Ghana Armed Forces in the statement said “in recent days taken notice of media reports alleging that some of its personal have been involved in providing security for illegal mining operations.
“The GAF takes such allegations seriously as it does not condone such wrongdoing if true. Accordingly, a full-scale investigation has commenced into the allegations and appropriate sanctions will be handed out to any person(s) found culpable.”

This statement however appears not to have gone down well with the social media influencer who took to his Facebook page to express his disgust asking if the Ghana Armed Forces is saying they are unaware of the operations and that it came to them as news.
For him, “It’s obvious a bigger authority in your command is benefiting from this “lucrative enterprise” on your blindside and that fellow will be one of Nana Addo’s untouchables”
