The National Identification Authority is set to embark on a ‘mop-up’ registration exercise across the country.
In a release signed and issued on Monday 15th June, 2020 by the head of corporate affairs, ACI Francis Palmdeti stated that the exercise will cover the remaining 15 regions.
The exercise is expected to register about 16.7 million Ghanaians on the Ghana card when completed.
It also stated that the NIA will continue the Mass Registration in Eastern Region which was suspended on 21st March 2020 in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The exercise will take place from 18th – 27th June 2020.
