Editor-in-Chief of the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr has called on the Black Stars to forget about qualifying for the 2022 World Cup.

This is in the wake of the Stars’ recent performances against Ethiopia and South Africa. Black Stars managed a 1-0 victory over Ethiopia in Cape Coast despite putting up a largely lethargic display. The Stars went on to produce another uninspiring performance against South Africa at the FNB Stadium where they lost by a lone goal and shockingly, failed to register a single shot on target.

Reacting to the performance of the Black Stars on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo morning show on Thursday, September 9, 2021, Kwesi Pratt called for the Stars to forget about qualifying for the 2022 World Cup. He was also critical of the players’ focus on money.

“The Black stars team was very good; I remember the 1960s but I don’t know what happened . . . I couldn’t watch the match but I think if we forget the 2022 world cup dream, for now, it will help us. Now it seems the focus is the money.”
