FIFA bans Kwesi Nyantekyi for life

The adjudicatory chamber of the independent Ethics Committee of the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) has banned the embattled former President of the Ghana Football Association, Mr. Kwesi Nyantekyi from all football-related activities for life.

As contained in a press release from the adjudicatory chamber on [ads1]Tuesday 30th October, the Ethics Committee has found the former GFA boss guilty of Act 19 (Conflict of Interest), Act 21 (Bribery and Corruption), and Act 22 (Commission) of FIFA Code of Ethics, 2012 edition.

In effect, Mr. Nyantekyi is banned for life from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) at both national and international levels. In addition, Mr. Nyantekyi has been fined to the tune of CHF 500,000.

This decision follows the Number #12 expose’ released by investigative journalist Anas, in June, this year.

The Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) initially suspended Nyantekyi on 8 June for 90 days.

The suspension was then extended for 45 days by independent Ethics Committee on September 5th which expired on Friday, October 19.
