Evangelical Methodist Church distances itself from #FixTheCountry Pastor’s public utterances

Apostle Dr. Daniel Adjei

Disgruntled Ghanaians hit the streets on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 to embark on the much publicized #FixTheCountry demonstration.

The head pastor of the Evangelical Methodist Church at Asylum Down, Apostle Dr. Daniel Adjei joined in the demonstration and during an interview, he explained that he joined the demonstration primarily because his church members have been affected by the hard economy and as a result, are unable to pay tithes and offerings. The interview has since gone viral.

However, in a statement signed by the Administrator, Samuel Ampadu, the Evangelical Methodist Church has distanced itself from the Apostle’s comments.

“His public utterances does not represent the position of Evangelical Methodist (mission) Church. The Evangelical Methodist mission is a Christian foundation for the promulgation of the gospel, we advocate for change of mind through education not public demonstration”, portions of the statement read.

The church also added that the Apostle Adjei’s “association with the church is in review”.
