Leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters, Ernesto Yeboah has met the GHC100,000 and three sureties bail conditions ordered by the Court on Thursday.
The political activist is facing a charge of organizing a special event without notifying the police.
He has pleaded not guilty.
A member of the legal team of the accused, Francis Xavier Sosu, said his client is doing well and has met all bail conditions.
“He is actually out of the police charge, was granted bail yesterday, when we got the people to sign the bail however I think by the time they finished it was late in the night so they asked them to return today so that what they have done this morning and they are on their way to court for the signing for him to be released he should be released in some few minutes he doing well but it’s just quite unfortunate,” Francis Xavier Sosu said.
Ernesto Yeboah was arrested as he led a vigil in honor of, George Floyd a Black American who was allegedly killed by a Police officer in the United States.
But Francis Xavier Sosu, however, expressed displeasure about how the police executed the arrest suggesting that it is a clear attempt to gag the freedom fighter.
“This looks like a clear attempt to kind of undermine the right to free speech and free expression and for me that the police’ motor ‘service with integrity ‘ where is the integrity, this looks like a deliberate attempt to make it impossible for people to express themselves and that is worrying because we are in an election year” the lawyer added.
