Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang visit Ablekuma Central Electoral Violent Victims

The 2020 Presidential Vice Candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress NDC, Prof. Naana Jean Opoku-Agyemang has called for justice to be served in the election 2020 bloodshed.

She took to her Facebook page after attending an Adua yesterday for a victim of the unprofessional shooting spree by security operatives during the December 7 elections and called for justice to be served while condemning the act .

These security operatives who are believed to be NPP militias recruited into the security services opened fire into crowds that gathered to observe counting of ballots, after voting ended. One of such dastard act occurred at Ablekuma Central that led to scores of citizens sustaining gun wounds, and one live lost in the constituency.

One thirty years old Ibrahim Abass, a victim of the shooting who underwent three surgeries but subsequently passed away was an NDC party agent whose live was cut short by one Collins Quarcoo aka Kola who is currently standing trial now at the court.

The NDC’s vice-presidential candidate emphasized that ” It doesn’t make sense for such potential to be cut short due to violence that should not be part of our election fabric. The perpetrators of such bloodshed must not only be condemned; justice has to be served to prove that indeed such acts are not welcome or supported”.

In her post, while wishing the deceased a restful soul, she further sympathized with the family, saying ” May his soul Rest In Peace, and may his family be comforted”.

Yesterday I attended an Adua for Ibrahim Abass, a young man who was fatally shot at the Ablekuma Central Collation Center during the election.

It doesn’t make sense for such potential to be cut short due to violence that should not be part of our election fabric. The perpetrators of such bloodshed must not only be condemned; justice has to be served to prove that indeed such acts are not welcome or supported.

May his soul Rest In Peace, and may his family be comforted.
