The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has stated that the Electoral Commission (EC) cannot be trusted in handling of data.

The NDC has citied instances of the EC engaging in actions that will eventually disenfranchise many voters in the 2024 elections. The NDC believes the EC is in a bed with the NPP to rig the 2024 general elections. It cited the overnight bloated register in the Ejumako-Enyan-Esiam constituency.

Though the EC explained in it Monday press conference that the transfer of 3,000 votes without the voters consent was a mistake by its officers in the Ejumako-Enyan-Esiam constituency.

However, Dr. Tanko Rashid-Computer, the deputy director of elections for the NDC remarked that the EC cannot be trusted in handling of data, hence the need to seek external support. It added it was a migration of the 2020 voters list to the 2023 register.

Dr. Tanko speaking on eyewitness news on Monday, said“We said we don’t trust their internal investigation. We are calling for an external body to audit them because this EC cannot be trusted in even handling their own data. Listening to them they migrated 2020 transfers into these current transfers by bloating it…They should apologise to Ghanaians”.
