[ads1]The Princesses are preparing fervently for the forthcoming FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, which is set to commence on August 5 in France.
They have been pitted alongside host France, the Netherlands and New Zealand in Group A.
Preparations ahead of the tournament was thrown into a disarray following government’s decision to halt football in the country in the wake of the Number 12 documentary by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas – where some officials were captured on tape accepting bribes.
Dr. Kofi Amoah was appointed by the Government of Ghana and world football governing body FIFA, to head a newly-formed liaison team as government works to restore normalcy to the country’s football.
He is being assisted by Technical Director of the defunct Ghana Football Association, Francis Oti Akenteng, with the duo tasked to facilitate the running of football in the country on the interim.
They are responsible for facilitating the participation of Ghana’s national teams in international competitions, while tentative interim measures on the administration of the country’s football are sought.
As part of motivating the Princesses before they enplane to France on Monday ahead of the competition, Dr. Amoah was captured giving $100 note to every member of the playing body after their morning training session on Tuesday.
