Dismiss partisan petition against Charlotte Osei; CenProG admonishes CJ

Madam Charlotte Osei is the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission

For Immediate Press Release

CENTER FOR PROGRESSIVE GOVERNANCE (CenProG)

CJ MUST DISMISS PARTISAN PETITION AGAINST THE EC CHAIRPERSON

EC Boss

The Center for Progressive Governance (CenProG) would like to condemn in no uncertain terms the malicious attempt by government and its surrogates to assault the pillars of our democracy by the deployment of communist inferior tactics to oust the Chairperson of Ghana’s Electoral Commission and reiterate our unflinching support for Mrs Charlotte Osei.

[ads1]CenProG had in an earlier petition to the President called on him to discard the frivolous petition by the ‘faceless’ petitioners because it was borne out of a blinkered, blinded and naked disdain for the EC Chairperson and had no basis to even warrant it being forwarded to the Chief Justice. It, therefore, came as a surprise when the Presidency forwarded to the Chief Justice who in turn established a prima facie against the EC Chairperson.

However, information trickling in continue to give credence to assertions going round that the issue has now been reduced to partisanship thereby relegating the collective interest of our dear country to the back burner. This is, however, a recipe for Chaos and CenProG assures the Presidency that we will go any length to protect our democracy.

1. Is it not curious that the numerous ‘faceless’ petitioners have now been reduced to two (2) and the over twenty-seven (27) allegations reduced to six (6)?

2. How do you explain the fact that the petitioners are now believed to be drivers who regardless of their status at the EC will not be privy to the procurement processes?

3. Does it not raise eyebrows that the accused has been invited even though she has not been served with the said petition?

4. Is it not strange that the Chief Justice will establish a prima facie case based on a petition that is clearly a rehash of the same allegations being made against the EC boss before, during and after the elections?

5. Is the fact lost on us that then running mate Bawumia made series of allegations of complicity against the EC boss which turned out to be palpable lies?

6. Is this prima facie establishment in anyway related to the recent rantings by Martin Amidu against the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission?

The NPP has always maintained a vexatious and unending campaign and/or agenda against the reputation of the EC boss to the extent that known surrogates were sponsored to petition Chathan House against the nomination of Mrs Charlotte Osei. This regardless, the United States Government through the embassy in Ghana duly recognized her with the Woman of Courage Award.

CenProG will like to call on all well meaning Ghanaians both home and abroad to rise against this despicable and unfortunate attempt to disturb the peaceful atmosphere in the country bearing in mind the bad precedence being set in entertaining this incompetent frivolity. We also call on our development partners to keep an eye on this issue and offer counsel to the government to desist from any Machiavellian attempts to plunge Ghana into anarchy.

God Bless our homeland Ghana and make it GREAT and STRONG.

Signed
