Discrepancies identified in provisional voter registers in Volta Region – NDC

James Gunu and Jean Mensa

The Volta Regional Secretariat of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has raised concerns over irregularities identified in some of the provisional voter registers provided by the Electoral Commission (EC).

James Gunu, the Volta Regional Secretary of the party, noted that many registered voters could not find their details in the provisional register or had been placed at different polling stations.

In a brief statement, Mr. Gunu stated, “We have identified significant discrepancies in the EC’s provisional register for the Volta Region. Many voters are either missing or listed at incorrect polling stations.”

The party further urged all registered voters to check their details before the exercise ends on Tuesday, August 27, adding that doing so will ensure their participation in the December 7 general elections.

“To ensure your name is correctly registered and you vote at the correct location, please verify your details before the exhibition ends tomorrow, August 27th.

“This is crucial to guarantee your participation in the upcoming elections. Act now to avoid any inconvenience on December 7th,” he said in the statement.
