The Founding President of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe is asking if President Akufo-Addo was serious about his promise that he will be president for all.
In a Facebook post of the anti corruption crusader, he asked If the words of the President can be taken serious when Santrokofi, Akpafu, Lolobi and Likpe(SALL) citizens are still denied representative in parliament over no fault of theirs.
His Facebook post reads;
“Did The President Really Say He Will Be President For All?
Really? Including SALL?
The gross human rights abuse by his EC of SALL should constitute grounds for their removal. And the President should investigate what led to the grave midnight erasure of the dignity of all SALL citizens by that reckless and disrespectful order to disenfranchise us”
It will be recalled that in the December 7th 2020 Election, the Jean Mensa led EC withdrew Parliamentary ballot papers for SALL on Sunday 6th December 2020 barely 12 hours to the election on grounds that outstanding issues surrounding the catchment area as to whether they are part of the Jasikan district or Hohoe Municipality after Oti region got carved out of Volta region was not resolved as such they cannot vote in the parliamentary election.
This attempt many social commentators believe was a hatched gerrymandering plan by the government and the electoral commission to disenfranchised the people of SALL to give advantage to Peter Amewu who was declared the eventual winner of the Parliamentary polls after beating Professor Margaret Kweku.
Franklin Cudjoe who himself hails from Akpafu have since been expressing his disappointment over the issue and was part of the team which took the matter to Ho High Court to place an injunction on Peter Amewu to restrict him from holding himself as the MP for the area.
In a fascinating judgment by the Supreme Court, the injunction was quashed which made it possible for Peter Amewu to be sworn in as the Member of Parliament for Hohoe.
