Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports, Pius Enam Hadzide has expressed his disappointment at some National Federations who do not appreciate the Ministry’s effort in assisting them.
He said the Federations and their executives also go on air to make unfriendly remarks about the ministry, a situation he feels saddened about.
The deputy minister was addressing newsmen and officials from the Ghana Volleyball Association who paid a courtesy call on the Sports Ministe Isaac Asiamah.
Just like the 10 lepers in the bible who were healed and one returned to thank Jesus, the Volleyball Association presented a letter of appreciation to the ministry for assisting them to Niamey.
“We have assisted some Federations in the past maybe even more than what we gave volleyball but not only did they not appreciate us but they went beyond that and criticised us unfairly,” the deputy Minister said.
He added that he was personally touched by the gesture from GVA and would continue to work together with the Association to develop Volleyball in the country.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS) and the National Sports Authority (NSA) paid for the accommodation, feeding and transportation of the team while the GVA also took care of the allowances of the players and officials.
