Civil Society Organizations( CSOs) in the Asutifi North District, Ahafo Region have launched an intitiative dubbed ” HACK COVID-19 ” to fight against COVID-19 in the district and called for help to make it a success.
The initiative called ” HACK COVID-19 ” is to prevent the district from recording and spreading of coronavirus which has currently affected five(5) regions in Ghana namely Greater Accra, Ashanti, Northern, Upper West and Eastern.
“HACK COVID-19” Project Technical Advisor, Mr. Emmanuel Marfo, explained the initiative needs GH. 12,000.00 to put measures in place to fight the dreadful disease in the district which must be tackled by all not only the government. According to Mr. Marfo, intensive awareness needs to be given to the people via the local radio stations and community information centres for better understanding of related issues of the disease.
He said aside this, 200 recommended hand sanitizers, 100 nose masks, six(6) bundles of disposable tissue papers and 20 dustbins would be dashed to the needy in the district after proper assessment is conducted to identify those persons.
He further mentioned that 200 community health volunteers and staff and front lines team will assist supply some essential stuffs like food, water among others to persons who would be quarantined and isolated incase the district begins recording cases so the initiative is a full package to help the government in fighting against the disease.
“The initiative will cover health facilities, market stores and public latrines in the district as well” Mr Emmanuel Marfo, Project Technical Advisor said.
He appealed to individual, philanthropies and companies to come support the initiative for a worthy course to fight against COVID-19 in the district by donating any amount via Mobile Money contact 0546159333 with the name Abdulai Fatimatu.
