The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Madam Shirley Ayorkor Botchway has revealed that 3 Ghanaians have died as a result of the novel coronavirus outbreak in Italy and Denmark.
Speaking to journalists outside parliament on Wednesday, the Minister said two of the victims died in Italy.
She however noted that the situation is not critical and won’t require the evacuation of Ghanaians in hard-hit countries.
She advised Ghanaians abroad to be careful and protect themselves in this hard times.
“We are praying that Ghanaians living abroad keep the advice given by all those countries and make sure that they are safe. Don’t go out if you don’t have to unless it is absolutely necessary. Stay home,” she told the media in parliament.
One of the deceased, she noted, is 69 or 79 years old.
Back here in the country, 7 cases of the deadly virus have since been confirmed, while a four-week ban has been placed on social gatherings following a directive by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo.
