The Greater Accra Zabarma Chief, Alhaji Pro-Umar Abubakasr Tanko who doubles as the President of the Ghana Zabarma Association has call on his Brother chiefs and philanthropists to come out to help support Government to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 with preventive items.
According to him, “Allah give us riches to help and support the needy and now is the time for us to share the little we have to save souls “.
Alhaji Pro-Umar Tanko made the call in a short video circulating on social media hinted that his palace has ordered for hand gloves, hand sanitizers including face masks to be distribute in the Makarantas (Schools) Mosques and the Zabarma Communities in Accra.
He advised his people especially businessmen to limit their travel and movement and to be circumspect in their travel dealings.
He urged Ghanaians especially the Zabarma Community to adhere to the directives issued by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on measures put in place to prevent further spread of the COVID-19 (Corona Virus) in the country.
He advised the Zabarma community to take the directive of the President serious as it is the way to help prevent the spread.
He urged Zabarmas to avoid going to naming and marriage ceremonies including social gatherings which attract crowds till further notice . He also advised them to adopt the attitude of washing hands under running water with soap regularly.
He further advise his people to exhibit courage to report early to health facilities if they feel unwell to help contain the virus at the early stage.
He added that those who will like to pray in numbers should not exceed the number given and observe the social distancing protocol of one meter (three feet) when praying.
Shaking hands, hugging and gatherings in various market Square community trading centers should be discouraged.
He appealed to the Zabarma community to practice hygiene at home, he further advised them to place water and soap in their compounds for visitors to wash their hands before ushering them to their seating rooms.
He furthermore advised them to cover their mouths when coughing and to avoid the use of finger in their Nasal, eyes and mouths because that is the point of transmission.
