Change your disrespectful and ‘monicious’ attitude; not your uniform – Nurses told

It appears the banter between Ghanaian men and single female nurses will not end any moment soon as the issue which started as a mere opinion of two nurses in Accra has gathered momentum with a much more serious response from men given credence to the claim by some female nurses that they are not being approached for serious marriage proposals.

As some nurses who spoke to Awake News earlier suggested that their uniform may have been intimidating men which is why they are not being approached for relationship proposal.

This, some Ghanaian men have strongly dismissed. Some men after Awake News’ publication took to the social media to express the real reseason why most of them [men] will never like to marry a nurse.

According to these men, “most nurses are disrespectful, money conscious and unfaithful in relationships” and that their uniform cannot be blamed when they even approach military women in their uniform.

Awake News has been monitory their comments and this is what some of them share on social media on the topic:

1: “Their uniform is neither a panther nor a lion’s face. Therefore it can not scare anybody. It rather the character in them which is propelled by the uniform they wear. And they are not the first generation to wear this uniform or work in this noble institution. They change their ways.”

2: “Not true
It’s about your availability,
We think the work doesn’t offer u so much leisure to spend on us ..
Time factor?”

3: “Is not the uniform. It’s the characters in the uniform. They say they are looking for men, approach them and see whether they truly need husbands”

4: “No, most of you are very disrespectful and that’s you always will find it difficult to get husbands”

5: “From my analysis, most men want to marry nurses but because of the character of some of them,a male friend said he would never marry a nurse or a secretary cos some have questionable character….. If their uniform intimidates, then what will police women also say?pls nurses, you have no case.”

6: “I do not think that, the issue is about uniform, the fact is the most nurses have multiple partners, l had practical experience”

7: “not their uniforms, but rather their behaviour and the way they show off. they feel soooooo pompous with the uniform. they irritate me”

8: “They should stop cheating and men will propose and marry them”

9: “It’s because u are disrespectful not ur uniform”

10: “Even ladies in military uniform are been approached by men and this common Green uniforms”

11: “Nurses have no manners not u the uniform even ladies in the military are being approached just change ur attitude n stop giving urselves to men basabasa I know u I’ve stayed near sampa nurses training hostel b4 the men are chopping them here n there”

12: “The solution is Faithful & not looking down on men period”

13: “Ur green uniform has got notin 2 du with dis.but rathr ur attitudes. Evryone one knew u dnt respect.so just change ur lyfstles”

14: “They are looking for money, always I’m broke. Please change ur character dat disrespectful behavior is not good.every man needs a respectful lady”

15: “I even need one to marry very serious but most of the nurses are disrespectful n money consious”

16: “You need to humble yourselves but not the change of the uniform”

Well, female nurses, this is what Ghanaian men think about you. Are their concerns genuine? Let’s hear your views too.
