C/R: UCC level 100 student killed by speeding vehicle

The management of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) reports that a Level 100 Bachelor of Commerce student has been killed in a road accident.

A statement signed and issued on April 13, 2021 by the University’s Director of Public Affairs, Major Kofi Baah-Bentum (Rtd.), says the tragic incident occurred when Priscilla Owusu Achia, 19, was knocked down by a speeding Sprinter bus at Ayensuano near the UCC Satellite Campus of the Nduom School of Business and Technology.

He revealed Ms Owusu Achia,“was in the company of her friends to buy some food items when the Sprinter bus which was overtaking another car knocked her.”

“The incident happened on Saturday, April 10, 2021 and she passed on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at about 11.30 am,” the statement said.

The statement by the University Management added that, the family of the deceased have been informed and the Saltpond police are investigating the case.

“The University Management extends its condolences to the bereaved family,” the statement read.
