President John Dramani Mahama has called on the Ghana Bar Association (GBA) to continue playing an active role in monitoring government policies and holding authorities accountable for the country’s growth.

During a courtesy visit by GBA President Efua Ghartey on March 26, Mahama praised the association for its unwavering commitment to defending the rule of law, human rights, and constitutional freedoms.

He emphasized the importance of civil society and legal professionals speaking out when the government strays from the right path.

Using a local analogy, Mahama explained that only outsiders can notice when a path is crooked, stressing the value of feedback from institutions like the GBA to guide proper governance.

He expressed his belief that such contributions were vital for national progress.
