Bawumia’s London street photo: Ghanaians questions its authenticity

It’s Saturday morning, Ghanaians woke up to see some photos of their Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and his wife, Samira on the streets of London circulating on social media where he (Dr Bawumia) has been on medical leave since last week.

Since the news of Dr. Bawumia’s ailment broke last week and his subsequent travel to London for medical leave according to a statement from the Cheif of Staff, many Ghanaians have been wondering what [ads1]exactly was wrong with the Vice Present to have warrant urgent flown outside the country.

The government has since not made public what exactly was wrong with the second gentleman of the land with many including minority in parliament calling for the full disclosure of his health status.

Days on, there were media speculations that the Vice President has suffered a severe stroke and there are plans within the government for President Akufo-Addo to appointment Interior Minister, Ambrose Derry as the Vice President.

The government has since denied that the Vice President is suffering from any severe ailment but just on a medical leave and that he will be back in the country in a week time.

Presidential staffer, Gabby Asare Ochere-Darko yesterday posted on his Facebook page that the Vice President is doing well in this “decent London flat”.

Today, there we go with pictures of the Vice President and his wife walking on the street of London.

However, these footages have been received with mixed reaction with some thanking God for the healing of the Vice President while others are just not satisfied with the photos saying it cannot be a photo taken today.

“They took those pictures 3 years ago.”

“Ghanaians are not dumb kids. Someone u say is paralyzed, now purported walking briskly on the street of London. If so he should come back home and work”

“You people must think that we’re some fools right? Do u guys even believe the stories u come to tell us regarding this whole issue?”

“I thought we are in the winter in the UK and ground wet”

Speaking to Awake News, a Ghanaian resident in London says the weather in London is about 9 Degrees Celsius and cold “the weather is very bad”  but however can’t confirm whether or not those pictures of the vice president were taken at the current weather condition – “mostly, this period, I will go out with bow tie around my neck”

Other Ghanaians are also questioning if this picture reflects the current status of the Vice President, why he was not followed by any security officer or any of his aides.
