Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has taken a swipe at his main competitor, John Dramani Mahama, ahead of the general elections on December 7.
The New Patriotic Party’s Presidential hopeful described the Mahama-led administration as an “akonfem era”, making reference to the infamous Savannah Accelerated Development Authority scandal.
Mr Bawumia said “Ghana is going into the digitalization age, not the ‘akonfem’ age. Vote for me so that we can also learn from the Europeans to develop our nation.”
He added that, his government will introduce innovative policies, which according to him, will facilitate the country’s development process.
Speaking at the “Ofie Mega Walk” on August 3, the Vice President argued that Mahama’s single term will make it impossible for him [Mahama] to render account to Ghanaians.
“Do you think their flagbearer can be a president for just four years?” he quizzed. Mr Bawumia continued that “He’s [Mahama] also seeking for honeymoon, meaning he won’t do anything.”
