A former presidential candidate for the United Front Party, UFP, Mr Akwasi Addai Odike has disclosed that the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is not a proper Muslim.
According to Odike who was dismissed from both UFP and UPP, a party he co-founded in 2015, Ghanaians should demand a blood test to substantiate his claims.
The 2020 disqualified UPP presidential candidate who has switched camps to join Alan Kyeremanten made this allegation on Hot FM.
Odike said if the NPP is keen on winning the next elections then they must drop Bawumia as they did with Paul Afoko and select a new flagbearer as Bawumia had become a liability and a source of embarrassment.
He said the nursing trainees allowance, ECG 2016 Digitization ‘lie’ and the church tax joke as major avoidable embarrassments caused by Dr Bawumia.
“Bawumia record is seen in the exchange rate and economic hardships felt by Ghanaians,” Odike claimed.
In the run-up to the December general elections, Bawumia has trailed in all polls. John Mahama of the NDC has led in all of them with the former President predicted to reclaim the seat he lost in 2016.
