Bawumia failed to deliver on ‘one village, one toilet’ promise – Journalist

A freelance Ghanaian journalist, Lawrence Odoom, also known in the media fraternity as Phalonzy, has condemned the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, for failing to manage the country’s economy.

According to him, Bawumia has been criticizing John Mahama for the NDC’s non-performance since 2012, despite the fact that his current administration as vice president has been a monumental failure, resulting in excruciating hardships in the country.

He chastised Bawumia for failing to assist his boss, President Akufo-Addo, in addressing Ghanaians’ economic woes, but took delight in mocking John Mahama’s recent 24-hour economy proposal.

He added that the vice president’s fixation on discrediting the NDC’s vision demands urgent attention, emphasizing that amidst the ongoing exchanges, nobody should take Dr. Bawumia’s assertions on the 24-hour economy policy seriously because, as a vice president, he couldn’t even fulfill the toilet facility promise he made to Ghanaians prior to the 2016 general elections.

“No village in Ghana will have a water or toilet problem in the first two years of the NPP administration,” Dr. Bawumia said.

He noted that Ghanaians should dispel Bawumia’s incessant attacks to undermine the NDC’s initiatives, particularly the 24-hour economy proposal, adding that Bawumia doesn’t have the credibility to ridicule John Mahama.

“It is very insulting for a vice presidential candidate like Dr. Bawumia who stood on campaign platforms to promise one village one toilet facility and couldn’t deliver on this simple initiative ridiculing JM’s 24-hour economy policy,? he quizzed.

Mr. Odoom reiterated that the 24-hour economy policy can transform Ghana’s economic landscape and alleviate the increasing rate of unemployment in the country.
