John Dramani Mahama, the presidential candidate for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has pledged to establish a university in Bawku if elected.
He made this commitment during a durbar at the Bawku Naba Palace, following a proposal from the Bawku Naba, Zugraan Naba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II.
Former President Mahama and the NDC leadership are currently in the Upper East Region, having launched their campaign for the 2024 elections in Tamale last week. As part of their initial tour of the region, they are scheduled to visit the Pusiga, Tempane, and Garu constituencies.
The campaign has been met with enthusiastic support from party members and local residents.
