Efo Korsi Senyo, Executive Editor of Awake Africa has lost his 119year old maternal grandmother, Afashie Hodor whose death occurred on November 29, 2017 at Ogome-Somanya in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

The burial service is scheduled for March 2, 2018 at Hodor Kofe, Ogome-Somanya, and internment at Kpoglu in the Volta Region of Ghana.

Afashie Hodor, affectionately called ‘Dada’ meaning ‘mother’ had 7 children, 70 grandchildren, and over 150 great-grandchildren.

She was a traditionalist whose parents migrated from Kpoglo in the Volta Region to Ogome Somanya in the Eastern Region by foot.

On February 26, 2012, this is what Efo Korsi Senyo wrote on his facebook wall with a photo:

I spent the whole of this Sunday in my village with my 113year old grandmother. She is still feet and recovering from her short ailment. Though she had never stepped her foot in the classroom before, she could read the symbols and written language of her gods ‘afa-a’.

She took her time taking me through the book that contains the language of her gods with its interpretations and how to heal natural and spiritual ailments. She said ‘now you are every educated now so learning how to read this book will not be a problem for you’

Infact, for all this while I never knew our forefathers have their own bible.
