Ashaiman MP’s name missing in Voters Register

The Member of Parliament for Ashaiman Constituency, Ernest Norgbey was left in a state of shock this morning when officials of the Electoral Commission scanned through the voters register at his polling stations without finding his name.

The MP, who is presently battling the EC in court over procurement issues, registered at Celestial SHS during the just needed registration exercise.

Resorts say he turned up this morning at his polling station to check if his name is in the register only to go through the process vigorously without finding his name.

The EC officials, awakenewsroom.com gathered, could not explain why the MP’s name was missing in the register.

There are reports that a number of people who registered in Ashaiman cannot find their names in the register.

The Municipal EC Director is said to have promised to rectify the anomaly tomorrow by replacing the register at the various polling stations with a new register.

Sources close to the MP said he has agreed to give the EC up to tomorrow to rectify the problem failure of which he would take on the EC.
