Arrest Richard Ahiagbah if you are not selective – Police told

NPP Communications Director, Richard Ahiagbah

According to the NDC, if Hopeson Adorye, a former NPP actor who defected with Alan Kyeremanten was arrested for an offence he confessed to have committed in 2016, Richard Ahiagbah falls in the same bracket. The party dared the Police to show neutrality by picking up the NPP Communications Director.

Richard Ahiagbah only registered for a Voter ID during the ongoing limited voter registration exercise after facing resistance from the NDC in Ketu South. The firebrand NPP chief communicator previously confirmed that his name was not on the voter register in 2020 but he voted.

“Richard Ahiagbah, a stalwart of the NPP confessed that though he was not a registered voter in 2020, he voted. That is another confession and that is criminal just as the throwing of dynamites. Now Hopeson has been arrested and granted bail, but we cannot leave the other person who has confessed because we cannot live in a selective justice system,” James Gunu told TV3 on May 24.

James Gunu, the NDC Volta Regional Secretary argued that if Hopeson Adorye is liable to punishment nothing exempts Richard Ahiagbah from the same especially since his crime is even fresher.

“If Hopseson Adorye is guilty, Richard Ahiagbah is equally guilty of electoral fraud and I expect the Ghana Police Service to pick him up and investigate him because he personally confessed this”.
