Arrest NDC youth who stoned Health Minister – Kwamena Duncan orders

The Central Regional Minister, Kwamena Duncan, has charged the Police to immediately arrest supporters of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) who allegedly pelted Health Minister, Kwaku Agyeman Manu, with stones.

The commissioning of a Polyclinic at Ajumako Sunkwa Thursday turned chaotic with supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the NDC going at each other.

It is reported that the NDC group stormed the venue of the commissioning with placards amidst drumming and dancing, asking why the new government is commissioning a project it did not start.

The NPP supporters present attempted to stop them but this ended up in a clash.

The melee resulted in stone-throwing, with a multimedia camera technician covering the event sustaining a cut on his forehead.

Describing the development as disgusting and criminal, Mr Kwamena Duncan appealed to the police to be proactive in dealing with the NDC hoodlums.

“This is not the first time we are seeing such a disgusting thing from the NDC. It is time they are taught a lesson. If your party has refused to commission a polyclinic and the NPP has taken it upon itself to do it, why do you attack,” he wondered.

“It’s criminal and they need to be arrested and prosecuted. I have spoken with the Police Command and they have begun investigations into the matter, he said.
