If the criminal investigations department of the Ghana Police Service wants to delve deeper to unravel the face (s) behind the gruesome murder of Ahmed Hessein-Suale, a key member of the Tiger Eye PI last Wednesday night, then they should not look further, as it has emerged with glaring evidence, that maverick Member of Parliament for Assin North, Honorable Kennedy Agyapongmay be complicit in the act of the murder.
Ahmed Hussein-Suale was killed at Madina in the capital, Accra on Wednesday evening while driving home. He was shot twice in the chest and once in his neck.
The gruesome murder of Ahmed may not actually come as a surprise to right thinking Ghanaians, especially when the Assin MP had publicly vowed to ‘’deal’’ with Anas and his team, inciting the general public, especially those with ill intentions against the works of the investigative journalist.
‘’That boy is very dangerous, he lives just here in Madina, anywhere you see him slap him, if he comes close to our premises, break his ears, beat him up, because he is bad, I will pay for whatever consequences, I want Anas to come and show…that Ahmed, show his picture on the Screen, I want everyone to see his face ‘’, these were the words of the MP, in an interview with the NET 2 TV, immediately after the Tiger Eye PI had released a video exposing rot at the then Ghana Football Association.
With this, lawyer for undercover journalist, AnasAremeyawAnas, has called for the MP to be questioned following the murder of the journalist.
KissiAgyebeng told Joy FM’s Super Morning Show host yesterday that the Assin Central MP’s incitement of the public against Ahmed cannot be ignored when investigations were opened into the murder.
“He invited the world to beat him up and said he will pay for it and now he [Ahmed] has been killed…he has questions to answer,” Mr. Agyebeng told host, Daniel Dadzie.
Agyebeng said, due to strategic reasons, he cannot disclose the next course of action for Anas and his Tiger Eye PI team, but they are surely beefing up security. He added that the family of Ahmed has been informed about his cruel death.
AnasAremeyaw took to Twitter to eulogise his colleague and noted that the team would not be deterred in the fight against corruption.
CID picks up KennedyAgyepong
Meanwhile, even before he would plead innocence, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, as at the time of filing this story had officially invited the Assin Central MPfor questioning.
The police said they will leave no stone unturned in getting to the bottom of the murder. They said Mr Kennedy Agyapong is only being invited as a person of interest.
According to the CID, it is following all leads, indicating that all persons suspected to be linked to the murder will be invited to assist in the investigations.
Kennedy Agyapong is expected to explain to the police why he should not be considered as one with intentions to have contracted thugs to kill the journalist.
