Amenfi Central NDC has postponed its planned One Week Community Engagement and Durbar. Scheduled to start on May 27 and run through June 2, the mammoth event has been rescheduled with no immediate date communicated.
According to the event promotional material, bigwigs of the party were scheduled to storm the Constituency. Among the key dignitaries that were scheduled to attend the programme are the NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, Running Mate, Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang and the party’s National Chairman John Asiedu Nketia. Others included the sitting MP Peter Yaw Kwakye-Ackah, General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey and other leading Members of Parliament of the party.
The one week packed event was scheduled to also witness performances from Keche, Dr. Cryme, Akwaboah and Nero X.
However, a statement released by the party’s parliamentary candidate for Amenfi Central Joana Gyan has indicated the event will not come off as scheduled.
According to the statement, a pending court case is the reason for the postponement. Someone sought an interlocutory injunction in court. The injunction application per the statement was dismissed but the party wants to hold on with the programme until the issue is fully resolved.
No details have been given about who are the parties in the court processes. But Miss Joana Gyan assured that it is a new window for the party to “re-strategize and deliver the best event experience.”
POSTPONEMENT OF NDC AMENFI CENTRAL ONE WEEK COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND DURBAR
We regret to inform you of the temporary postponement of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Amenfi Central One Week Community Engagement and Durbar program until the current court issues are resolved amicably.
While the recent court proceedings have yielded positive outcomes, including the dismissal of the plaintiff’s request for an interlocutory injunction, we, the team, hold the utmost respect for the wishes and concerns of our beloved community. Therefore, in a gesture of deference and responsibility, we have decided to delay our program until all issues are fully resolved.
Please rest assured that this postponement is not a setback but an opportunity for us to re-strategize and deliver the best event experience that honours the spirit and unity of Amenfi Central.
We understand the disappointment and inconvenience this news may bring, and for that, we sincerely apologize.
Stay tuned, as we will announce the new date for the event.
We are grateful for your understanding and unwavering support.
