Ambulance case: our broken justice system will let Godfred Dame win – Prof Avea

Godfred Dame

Former Upper East Regional Minister, Professor Ephraim Avea Nsoh under the erstwhile NDC government has concluded that with kind of Justice System in Ghana the Attorney General will emerge victorious in the ongoing controversial Ambulance case.

The Minister of Justice was heard on a recorded phone call persuading an accused person to falsify facts in court to have the Minority Leader Cassiel Ato Forson jailed. Bizarrely, the Attorney General also revealed to the accused person that he was not a target but was only added to mask the real intent of the case. Subsequently, he revealed that the target was Minority Leader Cassile Ato Forson because the president and former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta wanted him jailed.

According to Prof Avea Nsoh, the confidence with which the Attorney General dismissed the allegations and quoted the Bible to back his supposed innocence shows that Cassiel Ato Forson’s mistrial application will not survive the court’s scrutiny.

“See who is talking about God and entrapment! When you have [a] growing moral decadence, you hear people like Godfred Dame talking about God and law. But you see when a justice system is so corrupt, broken and easily manipulated, and indefensible acts such as those perpetrated by Mr. Dame are defended by a law Professor on grounds of ‘I taught him’ and ‘I know him’ mentality, then you understand why after hiding for some time, Mr. Dame emerges with courage that you normally will wonder where he got it from,” Prof Avea stated in a Facebook post.

After a court proceeding on June 4, 2024, Godfred Dame briefly addressed the media. His brief encounter left many thinking he had everything on his side.

“All I can say is that the Lord does not delight in the pleasure of the wicked. Even though they have laid traps for me, I will flee from them. And righteousness will always prevail over evil,” he told the media.

To Prof Avea, Ghana’s legal system is broken with many people harbouring a character similar to Godfred Dame.

“Mr. Dame is confident our broken justice system, right from the highest court of the land will protect him even if it means drowning truth in legal and other technical language. The justice system is so low in rating because there are so many Dames and their collaborators in our courts.”

He added that though the President and the powerful Ken Ofori-Atta have been exposed, Godfred Dame will still win the case at all costs. Prof Avea added that he would be surprised to see the Attorney General lose any of the cases.

“Fortunately, the two untouchable people in the current government, Akufo-Addo and Ken Office Atta have been exposed as being behind the ambulance trials. I would be deeply surprised if Mr. Dame does not emerge victorious in ALL the cases. Ladies and gentlemen, nothing works,” Prof Avea.
