Alfred Nii Kotey Ashie Wins Odododiodioo NDC Parliamentary Primary

Alfred Nii Kotey Ashie has been elected as the Parliamentary Candidate (PC) for the National Democratic Congress in the Odododiodioo constituency in the Greater Accra Region.

Alfred Nii Kotey Ashie, the PC elect will take over from Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuiye who is the current Member of Parliament (MP) for the constituency.

Nii Ashie Kotey contested with Emmanuel Nii Okai Laryea, a former Member of Parliament for the people of Amasaman Constituency in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.

Nii Ashie Kotey pulled 1, 209 votes whilst Emmanuel Nii Okai Laryea pulled 952 votes out of 2, 169 total valid votes cast; with 8 rejected votes to beat Nii Okai Laryea with 257 votes margin.

In November 2023, the Functional Executive Committee of the NDC disqualified Michael Nii Yarboi Annan from contesting in the election in the Odododiodioo Constituency. The decision was based on findings made by a special committee established by the Functional Executive Committee, justifying his earlier disqualification.
