The Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has commented on President Nana Akufo-Addo’s slip of the tongue, in which he referred to Mahama as the next President of Ghana.
Addressing a Youth Forum in Ho on Tuesday, August 13th, Mahama suggested that the President’s recent mention of his name, instead of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), indicates that Akufo-Addo subconsciously envisions him as the next President of Ghana.
The former President said, “Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. So, when the President is talking about his administration and he says ‘Akufo-Addo/Mahama administration,’ this is unpardonable.”
“It means he dreamt about me the night before. And it’s not only him—even his Ashanti chairman,” he added.
Mr. Mahama stated that even the NPP has endorsed him as the next President and called on Ghanaians to vote for him on December 7.
“We can read their minds from what they are thinking and what they are dreaming about. The time has come for us to take our destiny into our own hands,” he remarked.
