Former President John Dramani Mahama has lamented the abandoning of the E-blocks classroom units he built for senior secondary schools across the country by the current government.
According to Mahama, most of the buildings have been left at the mercy of the weather animals and reptiles use the facilities as their habitat. Speaking at a durbar of chiefs as part of his tour of the Western North region, Mahama said a change of government does not encourage the continuation of old projects.
“We completed some of the schools, we fully furnished some of them with desks and everything to accommodate students but the schools have been abandoned. The uncompleted ones too have been abandoned in the bushes and snakes and grasscutters are the ones studying in them,” Mahama lamented. Mahama noted that because of fewer schools and lack of infrastructure, the Akufo-Addo-led government has been forced to introduce the double-track system which he strongly believes is not helpful.
