The National Sports Authority (NSA) has stated emphatically that it is wrong for some individuals who intend to wage an anti-galamsey protest using the Ghana verse Sudan clash in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers.

In a press release by the NSA, it states that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) prohibits political protest in football.

The protesters intend to display placards with messages seeking the preservation of water bodies, Forest Reserves and Farmlands.

The intended protest is as a result of the devastating effects of illegal mining commonly known as (galamsey) on water bodies, Forest Reserves and Farmlands.

According to NSA “Any individual or group of persons who openly displays any political or pressure group paraphernalia, apparel or placards at the Accra Sports Stadium will be apprehended by the security apparatus who will be deployed in and around the facility”.
