The Cabinet of the Greater Accra Zabarma Chief, led by Alhaji Pro-Umar Abubakar Tanko , has donated food,clothing, Quran and sanitary items worth thousands of cedis to victims of the fire outbreak in Agbogbloshie, a suburb of Accra.
The Sadauna of Accra Zabarma Chief who is also a member of Ghana Zabarma Association, Alhaji Abdul Razak Mussah said the cabinet visit to the seen was to Empathise with the victims and also donate to them some relief items and encourage them to be strong in prayers and strictly adhere to the president orders on social distancing and good Hygiene protocol .
The fire destroyed houses and properties of the Zabarma community in Agbogbloshie. The Cabinet also donated similar items to the Dagomba Community who were also affected.
Speaking at the event, Alhaji Musah Fuseini Soroko, the Waziri in the Cabinet encouraged the victims to remain calm and refocused and look into the future with hope and not allow the unfortunate situation distract them.
He however assured the victims that the Faada (Cabinet) will work hand in hand with other Zabrama Philanthropists to ensure that their basic needs and demands are taken care of especially the reconstruction of the two raised down Mosques.
On his part ,Alhaji Mohammed Sani Ado, the Youth Chief of Greater Accra zabarma Chief admonished the Zabarma youth to stay united and support each other and also be law abiding citizens.
He urged them to desist from creating troubles and engaging in illegal activities which may lead them into unnecessary problems. Honesty, decency and hard work is the key for success, he added.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the victims, both leaders of Zabarma and Dagomba’s expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the kind gesture.
According to them, they are aware of the good deeds of Sarki pro-Umar Tanko but this donation have reaffirmed the good testimonies they hear about him. “We have heard so many good things about you but now we are more convinced that you are indeed a person who feel for the poor in the society” they commended the Accra Zabarma Chief.
From Agbogbloshie, the Cabinet proceed to some Zabarma communities in Ablekuma another suburb of Accra to further donate Similar items to the poor and the venerable within the catchment Area.
Furthermore, the Sarkin Yarki ( the peacemaker ) sarki Salifu Abdu also called on National Desaster Management organization (NADMO ) to come to their aid by building temporal shelters which would house the affected victims and their family till the Coronavirus ( Covid-19 )scare is over.
