Abronye to meet NIB today over corruption-related allegations against Mahama, gov’t

Kwame Baffoe, the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), widely known as Abronye, has been summoned to report to the National Investigation Bureau (NIB).

A letter dated February 21, 2025, and signed by the Bono Regional Commander, Mr. Kwaku Afari, invites Abronye to the NIB office in Kwawukudi.

Abronye is expected to assist in an ongoing investigation concerning alleged corruption activities involving the President and his government.

The invitation has sparked criticism from various analysts, who view it as an intimidation tactic from the NIB.

Youth activist Oliver Barker-Vormawor has voiced his disapproval of the letter’s tone, suggesting it indicates a confrontation between the NIB and Abronye.

He also cautioned the Mahama-led government to be cautious and not undermine the social trust they have built since assuming power.
