Abraham Norman Nortey, WACA Foundation donate to Ve Deme Orphanage

Mr Abraham Norman Nortey and the Wipe A Child’s Agony Foundation have made donations to the Ve Deme Orphanage Home in Ve Deme in the Volta Region today 23rd February 2019.

The donation form part of the Wipe A Child’s Agony initiative to support the poor, needy and underprivileged in the society. The items donated include bags of rice, bottled and sachets of water, drinks, teaching board, pack of exercise books, box of chalk, dresses, shoes, and toiletries. Others include milk, nido, milo and cooking oil.

Mr. Abraham Norman Nortey had earlier on paid a courtesy call on the caretaker of the Ve Deme Orphanage, where he interacted with the orphans and the teachers at the Orphanage. At the orphanage, the caretakee appeal to him and the government to as a matter of urgency consider the construction uncompleted classrooms at the centre of the Orphanage. Lack of beds, lack of incentives for teachers who assist the orphans where also mentioned to him.

Mrs. Comfort Annabi and Mr. Emmanuel Annabi are the founders of the Ve Deme Orphanage Home, speaking with them, they appeal to the government to provide their students with laptops to aid the teaching of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) in the Orphanage. Also appeal for sewing machines for vocational training of some of the orphans who are skilled in such areas.

In an interview with Mr. Salifu Eben, the founder of the Wipe A Child’s Agony Foundation spoke briefly on behalf of the team.

He said the donation was an initiative of Mr. Abraham Norman Nortey and the Foundation to help the poor, needy and the less privileged by putting smiles of their faces. He said as an orphan home, the Foundation’s donation was to show it kindness and love for the orphans at Ve Deme.
