Ablakwa resigns from Appointment committee of parliament

The member of parliament for North Tongu Constituency in the Volta, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has resigned from the Appointments Committee of Parliament with immediate effect.

In a letter written to the speaker of parliament right Honourable Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, he said “this is to formally convey my decision to discontinue my membership of the Appointments Committee after days of careful reflection and thoughtful considerations”.

He explained that the reason behind his resignation is difficult, hence will not make it public. “I shall like to state that the reasons for this difficult decision are both personnel and on principle” he added.

He extends his gratitude to the house and the leadership of the NDC. “May I extend to you, the leadership of the House, the committee of selection and leadership of the great National Democratic Congress, my sincere gratitude for the opportunity to serve as a member of the Appointments Committee in the 6th, 7th, and 8th parliament of the Republic of Ghana” he concluded.
