The Parliamentary Candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Efo Worlanyo Tsekpo believes HOHOE will be the biggest beneficiary of the 24-hour Economy if the NDC wins the 2024 elections.
Speaking during John Mahama’s “Building Ghana we want” visit at HOHOE, he said Hohoe is the busiest city in the Volta Region.
Former President and 2024 Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has planned to introduce a 24-hour economy policy. The policy promises tax breaks for manufacturers, eases taxes on businesses and investors, and maximizes the potential of agriculture and agribusiness.
The 24-hour economy will also provide critical social and IT infrastructure to stimulate economic growth. The policy priorities aim to equip young people with the knowledge, abilities, values, and attitudes needed for a sustainable society, focusing on Green Skills.
According to Efo Worlanyo Tsekpo, Hohoe also has the highest number of tourist destinations in the region, therefore, the implementation of the 24-hour economy to turn Hohoe into the best tourist destination in Ghana.
He mentioned Wli Falls, Tsatsadu Falls, Godenu Talking River, First Miss Ghana’s tomb in Alavanyo, and Mountain Afajato among others as examples of tourist sites that are located in the constituency.
However, the NDC PC noted that this will be possible only if President John Dramani Mahama completes the Eastern Corridor Road after winning the 2024 election and making HOHOE a metropolis.
