An accident in the early hours of Monday October 14, 2024 morning has claimed thirteen (13) lives when a VIP bus with registration number ER 2445-11 via off into hole close to Obuasi.
The bus which was travelling from Kumasi to Enchi in the Western North Region is said to have lost control and run into the ditch.
It is alleged that the bus driver identified as Osei Adu picked up stranded passengers from another bus that had broken down on same road, leading to an augment between he and some the passengers.
The passengers reportedly lamented of the capacity of the bus, which in cause might have taken the attention of the driver away.
The driver, die in the process of receiving treatment at the hospital, the thirteen people who lost their lives in the incident, include seven males, five females, and a child. The rest of the passengers are receiving treatment at the hospital.
The police are currently investigating the cause of the accident and have deposited the deceased at the morgue while working to assist their families in identifying the bodies.
